Hi everyone! 
Below are the team’s updates for weeks 5 to 6 of 2024. First, as always, let’s introduce the fantastic team and what we’re building.
The Team
The Observability team at Canonical consists of Dylan, Jose, Leon, Luca, Pietro, Ibrahim, Mateusz, and Simme. Our goal is to provide you with the best open-source observability stack possible, turning your day-2 operations into smooth sailing.
The Work
This was a bug-smashing week above all, but we also managed to push through some features. Notably:
- Mateusz contributed tracing instrumentation for Grafana and Loki, and adjusted the charm_tracing lib to use http instead of grpc (which had a large impact on charm size)
- Our very Simme got his hands dirty and created a Grafana agent ARM build
- Luca added metrics for self-monitoring of mimir worker nodes.
