Since the last release on 2024.1/stable (rev 783), Canonical OpenStack has gained new features, stability improvements, and internal design changes. Highlights are listed below.

    • SR-IOV — SR-IOV configuration dialogue, MAAS deployment support, and physnet mappings.

    • DPDK — DPDK configuration support.

  • Network Role — Dedicated Network role for manual and MAAS deployment modes.

  • TLS Managementsunbeam enable tls-vault for Vault-managed TLS certificates on service endpoints.

  • Magnum / CAPI — Cluster API (CAPI) components support for Magnum container-as-a-service.

  • Shared Filesystems (Manila) — CephFS/NFS backend with manila-data charm integration.

  • Baremetal / Ironic Support — OpenStack baremetal support to provision baremetal machines

  • Multi-Region Deployment — Full multi-region support including MAAS mode, region name management, TLS handling, and adding nodes to multi-region clusters.

  • Maintenance Mode Enhancements — Control role maintenance support

  • Feature Gates Framework — Controlled rollout of experimental capabilities via sunbeam list-feature-gates (baremetal, shared filesystems, multi-region).
