We, the MySQL team, would like to request the deletion of the charmlibs that our charm has published in its Charmhub page.
These charmlibs are not consumed outside of our own Juju operators, and have been considered deprecated since September 2025 (where the last version of the most widely used mysql library was published). Since then, our team moved the operators into a mono-repo structure, eliminating the need to distribute libraries via CharmHub.
One of our department technical author (@v-izmalkov) shared with us how a similar cleanup was done for the Kafka operators, we would like to follow their lead.
Or could you please share more details on the cleanup you mentioned for kafka charm? I see still a few charms from the search result: https://charmhub.io/?q=kafka
Let me clarify: we do not want to remove the MySQL charm (that would be catastrophic), but instead to cleanup the charmlibs listed under such charm. This would allow us to reduce the confusion that some users have around whether they should use them or not.
As a comparison, take a look at the Kafka charm libraries tab. Completely empty.
