While Juju 3.0 removed support for Windows charms, Charmcraft still nominally supports building Linux charms from a Windows machine, but it has never really worked well and Windows support has been a maintenance headache. As such, we’ve been discussing removing Windows support and recommending that people use WSL or a virtual machine to pack charms from a Windows desktop instead.
If anyone uses Charmcraft on Windows, please comment on this GitHub issue about how you use it and whether using Charmcraft under WSL works for you. This feedback will help us to prioritise our work.
