Juju Terraform provider 2.4.0-rc1 release notes

:puzzle_piece: Requirements and compatibility

  • This release requires a Juju controller of version 3.6 or higher. Support for Juju 2.9 controllers is not available in the v2 track; 2.9 continues to be supported on the v1 track for security updates and bug fixes.

  • If you are using JAAS, this release requires a Juju controller of version 3.6.5 or higher.

  • This release is compatible with both Juju 3 and Juju 4 controllers.

:rocket: New features

Enable HA on Juju 4 controllers

The juju_enable_ha action now works with Juju 4 controllers. Note that on Juju 4 the constraints field is ignored: new controller units inherit the constraints set at bootstrap time.

:hammer_and_wrench: Bug fixes

  • Updating the base of an application no longer fails when the charm revision is not pinned — if a juju_application charm block omits revision, changing the base now correctly recomputes the charm revision instead of failing. Tweak revision invalidator modifier by @kian99 in #1355 and [#1359](https://github.com/juju/terraform-provider-juju/pull/1359) (addresses #1351).
  • Null values in juju_secret are rejected at plan time — a null element in the value or value_wo map of a juju_secret resource now produces a clear error when planning, instead of an opaque failure during apply. Check secret value map elements for nulls and error on null by @ale8k in #1375 (addresses #1371).
  • Charm updates on Juju 4 — updating a Kubernetes charm to a different base now works on Juju 4 controllers. Set forceBase flag true for charm updates by @kian99 in #1366.
