Juju Team Updates - Week #34 2021

• Finished the spec and initial implementation of one-shot commands in Pebble: PR is in review.
• Started on the Python Operator Framework client for exec / one-shot commands.

• Juju 2.9.12 release candidate published for testing (2.9/candidate snap channel)
• add support for updating secrets
• fix for cross model relations worker if the remote side removes data without the consuming side being informed
• ongoing work to solve a field critical customer issue

• Made k8s controllers supporting feature flags set as environment variable
• Juju now supports basic auth for using private registry(featureflag: private-registry needs to be enabled, dockerhub is tested but more registry providers needs to be tested further);

2.9:

• Investigated a bug on equinix metal where the provider was querying the equinix API for information on FAN subnets and proposed a fix.

develop:

• Continued the preparatory work for supporting asynchronous charm downloads.
• Created a spec describing the minimum set of charm metadata that Juju requires to kickstart charm deployments without having to (synchronously) download the complete charm archive

G’Day:

• Worded on AWS Instance Role integration for Juju controllers
• Bug work on microk8s and Juju bootstrap timing issues.

• Work on a field critical customer issue
• Finalised go1.17 move for develop branch/juju 3.0
• Juju DB oci images published for jujuqabot for mongo 4.4
